Satisfying Everyday Moments
There's a little maneuver I perform every morning on my way to work and I find it so incredibly satisfying-- assuming nobody is blocking my way!
I'm in fourth gear approaching the spot where I need to slow to turn right onto a freeway entrance ramp. I heel-toe, downshift, and haul ass along the decreasing radius ramp, merging with traffic as my engine makes that wonderful howl, and I upshift with power to spare.
The top-- as usual-- is down. The wind is in my face. The world is a wonderful place.
Anyone else?

Every time I push that little red button and wake up the beast. The growl from the invidia brings a smile to my face, whenever driving it seems as if honda specifically made this car just for me. Its a wonderful thing I think we all share the same feeling...

There is a bridge over Rte 6 on the Cape at Exit 4 that has four foot high concrete walls. This is Great Hill Road in Sandwich. Every single day, I mean every time I pass there ( I live 2 miles away) I have to go through in second gear at 9000 rpms to hear what an F-1 driver might hear with all his headgear on blocking out some of his beautiful noise.
The racket this car makes is unbelievable and the high concrete makes it even more beautiful to the ears.
Ask Thomas, Ben and Rick and Lainey who all got to experience it first hand on our Cape drive earlier this summer. At the end of that ride after Rick & Lainey left I stopped my S in the middle of the road facing South while Thomas and Ben went by headed North. Both were flat out at the rev limiter, it may be the sweetest music I've ever heard. Sometimes this car gets close to bordering on a religious experience !

As you can imagine, the San Diego roads and freeways are full of soccer moms, driving their SUVs while on the phone, going less than the speed limit while swerving from side to side in their lane.
I know that sounds like the beginning of a joke or cliche, but it's the truth.
It's downshifting and roaring past these people that I love.
Especially when I hit vtec right as I pass, and they are like "WTF was that?"
I really have no problem if a person can drive well and talk on the phone at the same time. I usually don't answer mine if it rings while I'm driving, but that's just me, mostly because I can't get it out of my pocket without taking my seat belt off. If a person can do it, then that's fine. But, jesus, so many people just cannot do it. Is it really that hard? I'm guessing these people just can barely drive in the first place, and the added distraction of the phone just pushes them over the edge.
Anyway, getting my a$$ out from behind these dangerous behemoths is very sastisfying.
