My wife and I are now in Cordoba, in the South of Spain, and we found our first S2000, a black/black. It was driven here by a young couple from Valencia.

I finally got to see the headlight washers and the dull surfaced wheels of European models.

He said he uses the Internet, so I gave him the URL of this Forum.

We went to the Honda dealer in Granada to see the new Civic 5-door, sort of like their answer to the Subaru Forester. Wife loved it. Will it ever be available in the USA?

Other roadsters spotted in Spain are mostly Z3s, Boxsters, and Miatas. Best sight so far was a convoy of Jaguar roadsters in Seville, about a dozen old ones (XK-120, -140, -150) with an E-Type and an XK-8 tagging along. Neat.

Spain... ahhhh. I remember all those cities you mentioned. I crave the chicas de Barcelona. Sigh. Wish I could be back there.

If you had come to Madrid, you might have spotted another....mine! By the way, I've had my S2000 since Sept. last & haven't seen another S2000 yet! Talk about being special. There are supposed to be others around, I heard a number of 9 in a city of 5 million, but I haven't seen them.
The habit here is for folks who have roadsters & motorbikes only bring them out when the weather gets good. Still freezing with snow falling in the nearby mountains. Maybe I'll see some when the heat hits!

Lots of rubbernecking by almost everyone around me on the road, comments from people on the street, girls asking for rides......wonderful! Ah, notoriety!!

Jim,

Do Honda dealers sell S2Ks in Spain or are they "gray market" cars from other European countries? Just curious. When I lived in Spain there were really no japanese cars around.

I was asked if there were Honda dealers in Spain. Yes, not many, but then they give you a great 3 yr. free service with one of the big towtruck/service companies, to make up for the lack of a Honda garage in every Pueblo!

I had to call the other day (left key on in car, and battery went dead). The truck arrived in 15 minutes. Can't beat that!

There is a quota on Japanese car import into Spain, so you don't see a lot. I have the S2000 & a Mazda 323F (6 cylinder model), but it's not the norm. See the occassional Civic, smaller model Nissans, the big Jeep style jobbers from Japan are quite popular. That's about it. My S2000 is VERY exclusive, & I love it!

The stock American wheel has a polished surface, with a duller surface at the edges of the spokes. The Euro stock wheel appears to have the duller surface all over the spokes.

We spent one day in Madrid at the start of our vacation, and one day at the end, because we crossed the Atlantic via Madrid. Sorry we didn't know about you until after we returned home. My wife LOVES Madrid (she lived there 3 years in the 1970s), so we are sure to go back there again sometime.

Yeah, those motorbikes are everywhere, including up on sidewalks and driving the wrong way on narrow streets!
