I was driving down 280 south around 11 or so tonight and I saw a black stook being towed by it's rear. The front had some damage - couldn't really see how bad as it was kinda dark.

Sadly, it seems our cars are very prone to accidents. I wonder how that would effect our insurance rates.

Damn that's sad.

Towed by it's rear ??

Aren't stooks supposed be on a flatbed?!!! Won't that cause more damage?!

Sadly, I think the manner in which they are driven makes them more prone to accidents.

Shouldn't the STooK be towed on flat bed instead on its rear?

I suppose if its already trashed, the point may be moot. just a reminder to all of us to drive safe. Hope the driver is ok.

That's probably the case with most accidents.

I have always thought that towing on a flat bed helps protect the limited slip differential. Towing from the rear might protect the diff, but I am sure you would scrape the front end. Since he already had front end damage... oh well?

This reminded me of a sight I saw this Saturday...

I was at the Sunoco station (paying $2.04 a gallon for 94) on Rockville Pike this Saturday. As I am filling my car I look over and see a brand new M3 in the funky blue color -- I decide to walk over. This car had the entire front air dam demolished, including the head light assemblies and damage to the hood (it hadn't rear ended anything -- it had gone OVER something!); the entire driver side of the car looked like it had been side swiped; three of the four tires were blown; and so on...

The car had 27 miles on it! Someone either got carried away on a test drive (doubt they are allowing "anyone" to test drive) or someone was having some fun on the way home from picking their new M3 up. Obviously this is just my assumption -- based on the damage to the car and the low number of miles -- who knows, someone could have side swiped them and pushed them over an island in the road -- doubt it!

Had to be a $hitty feeling heading home after that...
