mine was worse... I had to shell out something like $1100, and that's after the trade-in credit for the value of my Prelude!

But then again, mine's only due once... not once a year!

 

That's why it's good to be military stationed in SC when you buy your S2K--No state taxes.

When I was in MN the cost for plates was $500/yr.

 

Sounds cheap to me guys. My 'stamp duty' (State tax on new vehicles) was around $5k and registration (with compulsory 3rd party insurance) is another $600 p.a.

However, insurance is not bad at around $900 p.a.

N.B. All above figures are in Oz dollars.
