Default Scared to lower it...

I dunno why, but I am just worried about dropping this car. I've had an S-10 and a civic, and dropped them both with no hesitation. But this is a $30,000+ car! It's my first brand new car, and I'm just scared that it won't get done right or something bad will happen or that I will hate the ride. I already have the eibach prokit...and my cousin works at a tire place and has dropped MANY cars...but never an s2000. I'm worried he won't put the suspension back together right...or that it won't be aligned right. I'm worried that the tired may rub too much, the ride will be terrible...etc.

I dunno...just having second thoughts about doing it. I know it will look better...and thats why I want to do it...thats why I did the other cars. Can you tell me how involved this is to lower? Can a lot go wrong or be forgotten in the process? I know blackknight said the ride is the same as stock...and other eibach owners agree?

Just don't know what to do...I like the way it looks now, but I know I will love it with just an inch drop. ARGH#@($*(#)@ HELP! PLEASE!

I am not going to lower my s2000. I dont see why it needs to be lowered. The stance is perfect for me.

i personally am not a big proponent of lowering vehicles, but i did mine because i had the chance when i put on coilovers.

you seem to enjoy the "stance" aspect of it a lot, so my thoughts are why not just do it anyway? its not like you cant go back to stock...

do a search for threads about lowering the S. you'll get a lot of recommendations and suggestions-- a lot of people have been happy about lowering their S an inch or less. I think beyond an inch, it's harder to get the alignment right. but don't take my word for it (I haven't lowered yet)-- do a search, because other's have gone thru the same thought processes as you. good luck.

I lowered mine about an inch with the Eibach Pro Kit, and I really like it. Those springs seem to be a popular choice for dropping the s2k, since they have a progressive spring rate. And don't let the price of the car bother you, going back to stock is relatively easy.

I read that the stock camber for the rear wheels is -1.5. After lowering it, the closest I was able to get was -1.7 with the 1" drop, but thats fine for me. Hope this helps.

what I would do is ride or drive a lowered car. you can't look at it while driving it so ride quality and overall limit handling are IMO what you should concern yourself with. don't let the price scare you. cars that cost 2X what the S costs still are lowered by the owners with wonderful results.......

After doing some research, the KG/mm Sport springs sound nice. A tad lower drop than the eibach's, which I like, and people seem to love the handling/ride of these. Although I couldn't find many pics.

Anyone have pics with these springs and 18" wheels? Thanks!

I have the HKS, and we just did a friend's w/ Eibachs. Honestly, the ride isn't much different but I personally think it does wonders for the looks. It looks more agressive. I have had mine on for about 50k mi so far, but I'm starting to have some suspension noises like clicks or pops. I'm not sure if it's related to the springs or not. As far as the instalation is concerned, it was actually fairly easy comparatively.
