Scary thought just popped into my head...S2000 redesign for 2004...
i remember reading a post a while back about the the S2000 being redesigned in 2004...anyone have any idea as to how true this may be?... i MIGHT be getting a S in the near future, but don't wanna end up with the "old" generation in a year or so, and hate my car...(trust me i will
)...i was, as i'm sure a lot of you were also, hoping that the S2000 would be discontinued after 2003, but seems like Honda as other plans...
p.s. if it is redesigned, i hope it doesn't get f*ed up like the new accords/civics...

Not to sure re: redesign, but read somewhere that 2005 model
will have more horses. Article didn't really specify about any other possible changes, and I can't remember where the hell I read it(do know it was on the net).
good luck!

Hard to believe anyone could hate this car after driving it. As far as the new accords, I own a 98 coupe (first year they integrated the NSX style rear lights) [closest I'll ever get to owning and NSX, but thats another story] While I'm downed by the change in exterior design on the tail on the new models, I am greatly impressed with the increase in HP and interior design. They even offer a 6 speed for it now
Since I just posted this on a similar thread I'll do so here as well.
On August 26, 2002 Automotive News released a report outlining future products from each of the Asian manufacturers. The report said the S2000 would receive restyling and re-engineering with 2005 model year.

Well if you also remember, allegedly the S was suppost to get a 6-speed automatic transmission with manumatic for '03. Anyone seen one yet?
Things happen, Honda does what they think will make money. No one knows the future except them.

There will be an I-VTEC model supposedly in 04. However, the car line is scheduled for an end in 05. The cost of putting the new engine in might not pay off if they will only build it for 1 more year. Unless the rumour of a 5 year production span is false, or is longer than 5 years. all sports cars have a short life...it helps keep value, and prevents there from being a million of them on the roads, which keeps them rare, and keeps the awe effect large.
p.s. if and when there is an i-vtec, it will be noticeably faster, but I didn't wait, I wanted my baby now, instead of waiting. remember an 03 has all the changes that the 00's don't. a 2000 model owner might find himself feeling he has the old generation if the i-vtec is released, but they already feel that way now. The 03's have the glass window, redesigned tranny, chrome trim, colour selection........, and all the other things that the 2000 doesn't.

So . . . .I guess I'm left with the lack of "chrome trim" to feel like the "old generation"
