Default Seat Belt Noise

Have noticed recently (more so than the past) that my seat belts squeeks on the seat right above when it goes over my shoulder. Is there a way to stop it short of coating it with Crisco, which will prolly stain my dress shirts.

my seat belt has been making that noise for a while.

try using a silicone treatment along the seams of the drivers seat where the seat belt crosses over the seams. this tends to keep it quiet for a short period of time then you just have to apply it again.

treat the leather for a temp solution or use a tape to cover it like the fabric side of a 3m velcro.

You are not the first one to have this problem. Try a search. Many solutions have been suggested (and tried). Good luck.

Use velcro but don't glue it to the leather. The leather has some kind of a lotion or oil on it and the heat will melt the glue out. Instead, wedge a big enough piece of velcro in between your seat and the seat belt bracket so the velcro hangs over the spot where your seat belt touches your seat.

get some of those el-cheapo stick-on felt pads from 3m and stick them on the spots that rub. they're small and work perfectly. i got mine from target.

Those sound like overkill to me. I'm getting this problem right now too. I think, but I'm not positive, that switching to a different leather conditioner should fix the problem. For the first 10 months of ownership I used Meguiar's medallion wipes and after that switched to the highly recommended Lexol products. The Lexol stuff looks great but it smells and feels like Crayola crayons. My seat belt instantly started to squeak with the waxy feel of the Lexol conditioner. I'd suggest first trying a slicker leather conditioner like Meguiar's and see if that works. I'll try this in a few days at my next wash/detail and let you know if it works for me.

I'm using a small piece of stick-on Velcro - works great.
