check the top when you pick the car up. It appears as though it's not retracting all the way down.

The problem I see with seat locks is that if a thief goes far enough to slash your top and then try to steal your seats and finds he won't succeed he's probably going to take the same object your top was slashed with and slash your seats to pieces b/c he's pissed he's not making away with seats. I guess the plus is that you'll still be able to drive but you will be needing new seats. I guess maybe insurance just pays for new covers but your crap is still going to be messed up.
AND you can have the faction knowing that the thieves did NOT make off with your seats. You'd lose them either way, so why not piss off the thief in the mean time? I think seat locks are a great idea and a good way to give the thief a big #### YOU.

The color combo is absolutely gorgeous in person ;-) Congratulations on your new S!

I also just recommend the standard seat locks sold by Kodokan4 (IIRC that's his screen name). Installation is easy, and they get the job done. Having installed them in a previous S2000 of mine, I can confirm that the bolt holes do go through the underbody (the front ones do, at least).

No, just a stock photo. I bought grade 8.

I bought the seat locks ad that should keep most from being able to get them out especially since they wont want to waste too much time doing it since a regular S takes only a few mins to get the seats out and be gone.

also had some seat lock decals made for my windows as an added deterrent.

I had no plans to replace or remove my seats so I replaced the oem bolts with button bolts (smooth domed head-no way to grip) used red thread locker and filled the allen hole with epoxy.
If you replace the bolts be sure that they're properly rated. The McGard Seat Locks are.

People post this theory all the time yet actual incidents have never supported this line of thinking.

I picked them up ate Ace Hardware. I don't know the stock # but I know it's a size 10 but you will have to find the correct length, pitch and material so just take a seat bolt with you.

Thanks for all the info. I talked to Peter about the seat locks. I will be overnighting my info to him on Tuesday/Wednesday.

I took off the whole week to enjoy my new S.

Oh.... and yes the top is not down all the way.
