Default seat theft in the Seattle area?

I'll be moving to the Seattle area pretty soon to look for work. Recently, I've read about these seat thefts in FL and I was just wondering if it will be safe for an S to be left park outside. Like outside an apartment complex or a home. I wanted to know if there are any members here that are from the Seattle area and knows if there were any instances of S break-ins or if it's a known probelm as well in Seattle. Thanks in advance.

I would post in the Pacific NW forums; they can give you the best answer.

I live in downtown Seattle and I'm also in the surrounding suburb areas a lot and so far I've encountered zero problems. This doesn't mean that I have a calm conscience about leaving the S parked on the side of the street or in a plaza parking lot, but just that I've encountered no problems. Seattle isn't that bad!

I would find a place with a garage. I wouldn't park any ragtop outside overnight.

Just repost it.

Anyway, I don't know if seat theft is as bad as it used to be. I've had a pair of seats for sale for over a year now, hoping to sell to somebody who gets jacked, but without any takers.

If you have a garage your seats should be safe. The problem has been people who routinely park their cars out overnight in the same place every night, giving crooks a chance to case them and pre-sell the seats, then jack them.

Seattle is an expensive place to live. Our economy has been significantly more healthy than the US average over the last few years, but that means our housing prices are still remaining high and the rest of the prices are following.

Regular gas is about $3.40 right now, and premium $3.70.

I'm in Renton (about 20 minutes south of downtown) and it isn't too bad. Although, I have my S in the garage. My crx got stolen one day though. I'm surprised they even got it started. It had been siting there for about 4 months. I never drove it. I think it was a 'practice' car for them. They didn't even take the stereo. Just the $1.72 I had in the cup holder.

It is crazy how gas fluctuates around here. One week it'll be $3.30 for premium. The next it'll be $3.60. I payed $3.66 yesterday for my gas.

About 6 months ago there were a bunch of reports on the NW forums about seats stolen in seattle area. West seattle in particular (which is where I live, but I park in a garage).

So no, it's not necessarily safe, but I see a ton of reports from florida too, so maybe it's a little better.

I park mine in downtown Seattle for work on occasion. I get nervous but I have had no problems at all. There are a lot of S2000's here and I have not heard of too many seats getting ripped off.
