Default Seatbelt threads messed up. Need Help!

My friend and i were installing my 300/4 amp, and components, so of coarse i had to take most of my interior out to run wires. When i was trying to put the bolt for the seatbelt back into the frame it was not catching and i tried a little to hard, and now the threads in the body are messed up and the bold is trashed. No big on the bolt, cheap to buy another. The threads on the other had.... Ive gone to numerous auto stores to buy a tap and die set, but no one carries the odd 11M by 1.25 i need to fix this. I did find a place who would cutom make me one, but they want $240 for it. Here is link for were im talking about. http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/auto/j...cgry5=SEAT+BELT. Its the bolt on the left side going into the body. I dont know if anyone has had this happen to them before, but any sugestions as to fix would be appreciated. Flame all you want, i already know i did something . I will probably go to the dealer to see if they can do anything if i have no other solution soon.

If this is suposed to be in (under the hood) section can a mod please move for me. I wasnt for sure were to put.

Are you sure of the bolt thread size? 11x1.25? Where did you get that information?

my friend who is a mechanic. he grabbed the tap and die set from the shop he works at. None of them worked. That is what he told me to get and no one makes it. Its not 11 inches, its and 11millimiter. Not sure if i confused you, or if i am. But thats what i am going by for now.

i don't think an M11 x 1.25 exists. www.mcmaster.com doesn't have that size and they have EVERYTHING. I'd take the bolt and find what die fits the threads on it, and then you know what tap to get.

either go to harbor freight if there is one near you, and open up one of their tap and die sets and find what fits, or try a machine shop.

worst comes to worse, you can drill out the hole and retap it to a larger size and get the correct bolt for that size. thats probably what i'd do.

Can you drill it out and put a lock nut on the bottom side?

you cannot get to it at all on the other side. i may have to just drill it out and go bigger. we had an entire metric set of tap and die that my friends shop had and none of them fit. im still going to go to my dealership to see if there is anything they can do before i do somethine ireversible.

The dealership can do it but chances are they are going to charge you a buttload for it. It happened to me and they charged 70 bucks to get the one side rethreaded. Friggen theives!

You might get some more into in UTH, but folks here seem to have helped you out. If you want me to move this, let me know.

This is a very common problem when removing the seats. Take it to the dealer. Pony up the money and get it fixed - the only way to go unfortunately.
