Default Seats

How many people would be interested in getting seats for their car that are custom but dont beat up your walet.. I was thinking s2000 seats with different colors inside to match the interior, can also do 2 different colors.. I'm thinking, a set of s2000 seats with custom color to match your need, what would be a reasonable price for something like that. With a trade of the oem seats, doesnt matter if they are ripped or torn. just wondering what people would pay for something like that??

Katzkin makes a set of leather for the seats for a very reasonable price. $700-800 US I think.

I'm investigating this possibility. In fact, I'm going tomorrow to test fit some aftermarket seats that have a very aggressive design (tight hip, shoulder, and kidney support) like racing seats, but are designed for touring (they recline) and have slots in the headrest for a shoulder harness. They can be covered with any fabric or leather. Cost would be well under $1,000 total for 2 seats, excluding the cost of the leather or fabric itself

I'll post if I determine they fit - that's the biggest problem with aftermarket seats.

Rick, I rather have just a replacement colour for the perforated sections for our stock seats and door inserts.

The seat bottom leather has to be taken apart to do that. We can supply the leather if you have an upholsterer. Otherwise it requires shipping the seats to Townsend for the work, which is very expensive.

There are upholsterer shops in every major city. I think a lot of people would go for the door inserts and perforated seat section swap. Keep us updated.

I just bought a set of red seats. The black ones are coming out and getting stored. I don't think I want to sell them. But, I would be interested in maybe a black/red combo for the new red seats that I have. They would really look cool with a set of black door panels with red inserts. I think I have tracked down a set of red door panels for $250 from the same car that the seats came from. I just don't know if I want to pay that for the door panels just to rip the inserts out of them. Does anyone know what it would cost to get my black inserts redone in red?
