I have always felt that if you left the top down, in the dark, doors unlocked and even provided the tools to remove the seats, the thief in question still made the decision to steal property that did not belong to him or her. So I would never think you are at fault.

But......................the reality is we live in a f'd up world and there clearly are things you can do to at least minimize the risk.

Bad enough to get ripped off once but twice! I feel for you Dombey.

What's really sad is that you can't have a nice car without some idiots breaking into it.

When I first moved to the valley I lived in a condo around Shea and 96th street. Never had any issues (also had carport) but I didn't own a S then. What part of Scottsdale are you living in.

Where was the car the 2 times stuff got stolen?

I doubt that seatlocks could of prevented this... The seats would still be there but they would take something else.

Reading this make me want to get a alarm...

56th and Paradise (one street north of Greenway). Actually a great part of town...there just happens to be some bitch in my complex that steals shit.

Sorry about your loss but that was a bad move going from a garage to an open space for parking (unless it forced on you to go that route) and just asking to be messed with. Does your apartment complex have a garage you can maybe rent out for 4 months until you find a place with a garage? Can you trade cars with someone who has a garage for 4 months?

It wasn't really by choice. I'm staying here to help my sister who got severely backwards on the condo during the real estate crash & needed to move out because she has a 1 yr old. It was convenient because I was just relocated here and needed to buy a place - so instead I decided to be nice and rent the place from my sister. (the seats thing has been a nice welcome)

I'm not that familiar w/ the complex yet but it is possible that they have a garage I can rent - that is a great idea. (I knew someone would be helpful on here)

S-owners go the extra mile to help out other S owners. Good luck on the garage find.

Some of you guys are harsh. I'm pretty sure the OP just posted up to vent and not to be ridiculed. Yes, in part he was at fault for not taking the precaution but come on, we shouldn't be having our cars broken into in the first place. Especially getting hit right after you just fixed it the first time. I feel you OP, I probably wouldn't invest on other things for the car knowing that the lease will be up in a few months. Good luck with the repairs again. Hopefully your insurance company don't bring up a suspicion against you.
