I could be wrong about this, but I think the JDM (home-market) cars don't come with windshield tape applied. I think it's market-dependent. I think perhaps the European market (Germany, etc.) gets the tape applied (like the North American market).

A number of us have debated the issue of windshield tape before on the board, but I can't remember which markets get the tape and which don't. And, if you're looking for an explanation of it, I can only say that we concluded it was strictly a cosmetic thing. As you guys know, there's body-color paint under that tape (not always of perfect quality, mind you).

 

Are they hand painting the s2000 in that pic? I thought all cars were painted using robots these days?

 

It's strange that they don't offer GP white, but the offer Black/Tan instead.
