Maybe get a local s2k buddy from your area to come walk you through it the first time. Those jack points are somewhat confusing at first. You will bend the crap out of it if you lift on the side front closest to the wheels. Always make sure to use the second one closer to the door.

I lift all the way up on the driver side front and crawl under. This tilts the oil pan so everything comes out.

[QUOTE=nightcrawler7188,Oct 5 2007, 08:39 AM]jack it up from the right side front (where hk s2k showed you), open the drain bolt, let most of the oil drain out, remove the filter, let most of that drain out, then lower the car down and let it sit level for 5 minutes or so.

I drive up on some wood blocks. The ramps I have won't work on the S. I really hate changing oil on the S and I really want the Omega jack or at least a more low profile jack, but I cannot justify $240 when I change the oil on my S once every 6 months.

You can reach the drain plug from the top, no need to jack up the car really.

I change Mobil 1 every 3000 miles.
I agree, you can see the drain bolt from the top of the engine bay. I just slide an oil tray underneath and use a long rachet to unscrew the drain bolt, no need for a jack.

everyone uses a diff method!

since my car is lowered, i drive up on two 2x4s with the front tires, then put the trolley jack under the front jacking point (under the front middle).
lift it enough to get jack stands under it then crawl under to put oil pan under and to release the fumoto valve. could do it without jacking up the car, but not that hard to jack it up.
lower the car and change the oil filter while the oil drains out. oil the filter rubber seal and install the new one. close the fumoto valve and fill in the new oil (i have used just about everything- now on mobil 1... my 2nd fav was royal purple- mainly cause i could see it on the dip stick!!)

my car is low mileage, so i change the synthetic oil once a year.

don't know about your year but on the 07s the owners manual says to wait until 15%, for me that was 5,300 miles, I hated driving it that far on its first oil but I followed the manual.

Though neither of those extra two pointed out are relevant for oil change procedure? YOU keep up We could teach him how to use spring compressors too, but it won't help him change the oil!

Sorry, couldn't let you slide on that!
I haven't changed my S2000's oil yet but I always use the center front jack point on my prelude. I lift at the front center high enough to get jackstands under both front side jack points before I crawl under the car. I don't know how people are using the car jack to lift at the side and still getting a jackstand under there somewhere I have heard of two people that had a car fall on them and both were fatal. I will always use stands.

Neat trick. I will have to try that on my first oil change.
