Sell your S to Carmax ?
nj2tn, what are the details of your car? - miles, mods, are you the original owner, do you have the title in hand, any previous paintwork, accidents, clean title? Oh and how much are you asking. I live in Brentwood and may be interested. You can PM me if you like.
Thanks

I agree with some others. I have recommended to family and friends to stop by there and get a number. About half there offers were good and half not. I personally sold them a stolen and recovered (trashed) 1-year old Pontiac Vibe for $2500 less than what I paid. By the way, they automatically DEDUCT for any modifications, no matter what value you think they add.
carmax actually gives the 'best' quote out of any type of 'dealership'
you'd be surprised at what u get from that, especially if the car is a hot seller like camry/accord.
that said, you'll get more if you tried to sell it yourself. however that also requires more work, posting ads, hassle w/ buyers, risk of frauds..etc
it doesnt hurt to get a carmax quote, it is good for 10 days. i'd recommend it so you have a baseline to work up from if you decide to sell it yourse.f

I had a FANTASTIC experience with Carmax when I sold my beat-up '99 CRV. They gave me a decent quote (not too far off from KBB trade-in value) for a car that had almost no rubber (they claimed my tires were still in excellent condition
), been in front and rear collisions, and a scrape on the side panel. They gave me a quote that was valid for 7 days with unlimited mileage. Went back a week later with the title/registration, waited about 45 minutes to an hour or so for them to prepare the paperwork while we enjoyed their complimentary coffee, signed the forms with a detailed explanation for each one, gave them the title, and they cut us a check.
That was it. I had my initial doubts about Carmax, but all in all it was a very pleasant experience. Good luck w/ your sale.
