Selling My S2000 - Questions
I'm selling my '02 S2000 and I'm hoping for some help on a couple of questons:
1) The car only has 4800 miles on it. Can I trust Edumunds pricing ($24,672 private/$27,669 list) on a car with this low mileage? I think the way they figure pricing is to start with average mileage and deduct some number of cents/mile.
2) Why can't I open a new thread on the Marketplace forum? (to post the advert)
Thanks
Jim

Edmunds usually is pretty close with their pricing. Owners (not saying you) but in general, usually have an attachment to their cars and always think that it is worth more than it is.
Sorry to see you getting rid of your car! That car will make someone happy with those low miles!

Keep in mind that for many people, the S2000 is a second or third car and will have low mileage. You might be able to get a little more money out of your car for having such low mileage, but I would do a search on autotrader and cars.com to get an idea of what the asking price on other S2000s in your area.
Good luck.

Nothing immediately. I'm working at home now and don't drive much. Seems like a shame to leave the car sitting in the garage. I'll be driving an Accord, which feels pretty loose next to the S2K.
The S2K is the most fun I've ever had in a car, and I've had a bunch of different rides over the years.

Traitor!!!

LOL JK man!!
24k is a pretty good idea of what you will get for such low milage. The reason you probably can't post in the marketplace despite being a registered owner is that the transition to the new version of s2ki isn't quite complete. I'm in the same boat. I can't start new topics in for sale and wanted. The admins assured me this would be worked out very soon. Create a for sale post in S 2000 talk and request it be moved to the marketplace by the mods. If you are a registered owner, they should do it for you. They did it for me. Good luck with the sale.

When I sold my Prelude about a year ago, there was about a $1500 difference between the max private party value given using Edmunds and Kelly Blue Book (putting in the same info: mileage, color, location, condition, etc.).
You can always ask whatever you like. Just remember that the S2000 is a very buyer-specific car. It's not like an Accord where you can appeal to the Accord/Civic/Camry/Taurus crowd. Depending on your area, you may find that people aren't interested in a two-seater car. However, for the person who knows that he/she wants an S2000, your car will be quite a find!
By the way, where are you located? My sis in NJ is starting to consider picking up a used S2k.
