Selling S2000 - weird responce
[edit by Moderator... That's enough ... I'll leave this thread open for discussion about this way of selling cars, but this appeared to be a veiled advertisement -- Chazmo]
fair deal, I was just curious if there was something in my ad that would throw people off.
Not really counting on any extra exposure from this thread. I think almost everyone in General already has an S, and most of them are newer and nicer

only thing i can spot is where you said "driven in the rain". i assume you meant "never driven in the rain".
Fooking autotrader wont let me edit the listing. I will edit my ad, hit save, receive an email confirming it, and then it just stays unedited.
I am starting to think that autotrader is a giant pile of junk.
Oh well.
Last time I sold a car in autotrader, I got 0 calls the first 4 weeks and then the 1st person that called paid asking price
A lot of times people will watch certain cars for a little while and see if the seller lowers the asking price before contacting the seller.
Good Luck!

with my experience with Autotrader you have to have patience. selling a car is not easy. it took me a few months to sell my del Sol. I bought my S2000 while i was selling my sol. in the spring a young man bought it cause he wanted something that got better gas mileage then his F150. My Sol was pretty modified and I didn't think he would have enjoyed it the same way i did and one test drive and he bought it. I recently sold my grandmothers 1996 cadillac Fleetwood brougham and it took awhile. the right person came along and loved it cause he had one before and my grandmothers was in very good condition. i think your best bet would to wait till spring when everyone looks for a convertible. i wouldn't want one now right before winter gets here. I also found that the first person that comes along buys the car. like i said before patience.
My buddy sold his Vette in 2 days. My last racebike sold in 2 days (it wasn't a cheap motorcycle - 9K used)
I have no problem being patient. didnt expect things to take long when selling a clean and well maintained auto.
Just wanted to check and make sure, I wasnt out of line with my add or the price.
Back to waiting. Or I may just say f@ck it, and keep the car

I sold my 2002 M3 Convertible on autotrader and my phone blew up the second I posted it.
It's just the car. The S2000 has been around for a while and it's not selling that well anymore. Plus it's a 2 seater, which is a niche market. It's not going to be an easy sell. Add to that that it's almost October.
I say post it on the boards here and give it a try.

Shark:
Yeah, cars isnt the best investment. I bought mine used, and not terribly in the hole.
Nupe1:
Here in Atlanta, October is when it cools enough to drive a vert
Looks like my Caddi will have to wait till I sell the S, or wife convinces me to keep it.
