Default SERIOUSLY... what is up with all the theft?!?!?

ok, so about 7 months ago the top gets slashed and the seats stolen...

About 4 months ago, I was at a car club/meet. Some punk kids ask me "are those real volks?" When I left the meet, guess who followed me home... I made sure I went somewhere else that was not my house of course...

Last night, at about 9:30 I see a car outside of my house with its lights on, just in the middle of the street... I stand watching through the window for a minute and watch a guy walk from my driveway back to the car, then another guy gets out of the car and they both walk back into my driveway to the S2000... I turn on the light, the guys run to the car, I walk outside and the car speeds off...

Pretty suspicious, you think?

Do other people have things like this happen frequently? I know in Florida its common, but places like Utah?

Are motion sensing turret emplacements legal?

You should have called the cops and let them start taking the wheels off.

Park inside, or somewhere else if you can.

What are the laws like in Utah when it comes to defending your own property?
I know in Texas, if someone is on your property after dark, you can shoot them. Here in SC, it's not quite so lax, but if you are "threatened" or someone enters your home...you're free to fire away. All it'll take is a couple shot theives for the rest of those punks to get a clue.

OP...

i'd be freaked out in your situation personally.
but yeah, park that thing inside.

or leave it outside and wait for them.
and get your bat out for some vigilante justice... the most beautiful form =]

hehe, but seriously,
the suggestion about letting them try to take the wheels off and calling the cops to come immediately was not a bad idea at all.

rather than turning on the lights, you should have walked outside with a shotgun. if they had half a brain at that point they'd know not to come back, and you wouldn't even need to shoot them.

You should've let them start taking the wheels off and let the cops deal with them. That's the best way to solve the problem. Then you can sue them for your top too. Get some surveilance equipment
