For those who are interested in resolving the 2nd gear problem see below from Spoon Sports. go to
http://www.aj-racing.com/catalog/home.php

The Spoon propeller shaft for S2000 is a stock Honda unit that has been disassembled then reworked and reassembled by Spoon technicians. The reworking involves the polishing of internal components to reduce friction and smoothen operation. Furthermore, the rotational balance of the shaft is improved from the standard 1.3kg/cm2 to 1.2kg/cm2 This smoothens and improves the shifting feel, eliminating the notchy 2nd gear engagement common to S2000s.

Its not a matter of where you live, its the matter of the fluid in your tranny not being warm or hot enough to properly lubricate. But I'm sure living in a warmer place helps.
You're not getting it though. This happens even when it's 100 degrees outside. The car is just finnicky when shifting at redline from 1st into 2nd. Even from a stop, I sometimes have a tough time getting into 1st. I also have a hard time putting it into reverse at times too. I love the shifter in this car, but it's odd sometimes.

Even after changing how I shift, when I slam it into 2nd from 1st at redline, I usually will grind a good amount of the time.

I don't know how about you, but I redline my baby earliest after 10mins. of warm up, to make sure she's hot and ready to go.So to bring this up for the third time wont help, believe me.
