Default Shift knob

Saw article in today's WSJ on bling shift knobs! ($150k with gold and diamonds.) Mention was made of the PAC RacerboySK-1 available from Crutchfielf for $29.95. It has 4 programmable buttons that can be set to control infra-red equipped vehicles' stereo systems. Comes in colors, too. Would it work in an S?

Also, the Skunk2 performance knobs. 440 grams. Supposedly allow smoother, quicker shifting. True??

Well if you had a headunit capable of receiving infrared signals, then it would work, obviously... But uh, you realize the head unit is like 4 inches from the shift knob, right...?

The Skunk2 knobs are nice, and heavy enough to kill someone with I believe. But don't get one just because of the promise of a quicker/smoother shift. I do just fine with the stock shift knob and can't really imagine shifting any quicker.

it's not quicker, but it will shift alot smoother since you add alot more weight to throw.

i have the skunk2 knob and it's very nice feel to it, it felt smoother than my 480 gram TWM knob, probably because the twm knob is set low in countersunk
