I would go with a voodoo knob. They are cheap, feel great, and are countersunk. What else coud you ask for?

I have the Voodoo pearl aluminun and it has a great very direct feel. Heard the same about Muz's. It feels better than the stock knob. It fits my hand and shortens the throws a bit. Nice easy mod.

Is this his first sportscar? If not you may want to get him something for nostalgia sake. Something to remind him of where this sportscar crazyness all started. Here's mine

For me it completes the circle. Besides, nothing feels as good as wood.
