Not knowing exactly how your are shifting, it's impossible to say whether or not you are experiencing something weird.
For all we know, you could be simply ramming your shifts home. This will almost always produce an abnormal feel. It's not just timing. It's also to do with technique.

watch Wisconsin S2k shift!!!!
https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=309834

my only comment is when I'm driving responsibly (slowly) and shifting slowly way before VTEC I find that my shifts aren't very smooth and I'm getting this nicking feeling you describe. If I get a little quicker with my shifts they're butter!

Same here guys. I've had mine only a few weeks and I'm having the very same experience. I was going to talk to the service dept. but apparently this is a common trait?

I've had mine for about a month - the shifter definately becomes smoother as the tranny warms up. Once and a while I fell notchy shifts - but for the most part it feels smooth. Of course, my old car had a short shifter that was also a little notchy - so my basis of comparison may be a little off.

From what I read, our cars do not have a shift "linkage" per say - I infered that the shifter selector rod is actually changing the gears directly... not sure if this is the case - but if it is, I would imagine that would make some of the engagements a little more rough as they are in closer connection to the gearbox than other rod/cable connected shifters. Just a theory though...

No problems or complaints here.

Perhaps you should have another S2K owner drive your car?

it should feel like a "snick" when you put it into the next gear. it is more noticeable than most cars, but it's also an amazing gearbox.

Thanks for the responses. Upshift to third most pronounced. Sounds like it gets better when broken in. Just had visions of wearing gears away. None of my other cars had this feel and I seldom trust dealer service types.

I have the same damn problem and it annoys me like mad. I personally think it's the synchros. I haven't taken it to the dealer yet (really should) and I have a 100k warranty so lets hope. And it also seems to STICK in the gate or gear occasionally? HARD to get out even with clutch in...
