OldDog, I'd trying putting it into 2nd then into 1st when you are completely stopped. That always helped in my old volvo that had bad syncros...

When your transmission is cold, shift slowly or double-clutch first to second. It should "clunk" when engaging first from a dead stop because first gear has to stop moving parts to engage. Selecting second, then first works for me.

Volk, as i read through to find out if the problem was normal the Honda dealers to recent owners said that it occurs, because the s2000 owner asked where's the smooth shifting that the s2000 is suppose to come with like it said?

he said it tends to happen, and on the FAQ problems that AP1's most commonly occur to

and 352s2000 thanks for the advice double clutching should make it better when it's cold

too me it did bug me out cause i'm one of those owners who always after parking me car inspect it for like a buncha minutes ! hahahah

but i don't see no signs of grinding or anything really horrible goin on.

it's normal cause the moving parts hasn't fully stopped. Also by selecting 2nd before you go into first, it stops all the moving part and makes for a smooth/quiet shift.

I own a 2k8 CR with 10k miles.

Nothing wrong with it. Sometimes when cold in the morning only and initially shifting from 1st to 2nd gear at low revs, i.e. 2k to 2.5k . . . clunk . . . with clutch engagement. At first I thought that I'd run over a metal plate or manhole cover . . . nothing.

I wouldn't worry about it. It sounds like a normal occurence. If the amplitude or frequency increases, then I'd investigate. If something delterious happens, I will post.

Most forum members confirm the same noise . . . without issues.
