Hello everyone. I am looking to buy a used S2000 and I have found one, but it is across the US in another state. Has anyone ever shipped a car before? If so, can anyone give me price quotes? Any information is helpful, THANKS!!!

Shipped my 04 this JUne. Came from Wchita, KS and shipped to Pittsburgh from a car hauling co. called "Worlwide". They are a division of Bekins. Shipped it on an open hauler for 500 bucks. Took 2 days. Got to me unscathed. Very happy with the service.

How about insurance? Do they offer it? Do you think it is necessary?

ive always wondered if it is really safe and wise to buy a car let alone a used car without ever driving or seeing it personally.

I shipped mine out on Oct 1st and it arrived on Oct 12th from Baltimore, MD to San Diego, CA...I used www.dasautoshippers.com, since I've used them in the past and was happy with their services...I payed $850 for a topload, open carrier, terminal to terminal...It would have been $1,400 to pay for a closed carrier but I spoke with my insurance company and they said if anything happened en route (Tornado, hail, accident, etc..) it would be covered so I wasn't too worried...You can purchase their insurance, otherwise if not, they will only cover up to $250 regardless if it's totaled...So either speak with your insurance or get the insurance from whichever car company you decide to go with.

I agree that you should at least look at and drive the car, especially if it's used before purchasing...

My car was bramd new so I had no worries about condition. Also, I owned the car b4 it was shipped, so my regular insurance covered it.

.....Or, there are alot of great brothers/sisters of this s2ki site that would probably go and check a car out for you, that happens to be right in their back-yard, yet miles away from you. . Carry on..... Kevin
