Should i avoid buying an s2k with over 100k miles?
Are these cars known for being reliable past 100k miles? Since it's a high revving motor, do they go for much longer than 100k? The car I am looking at looks great in every way, except for the mileage which is 102k
Mileage is no problem on these cars, assuming they have been maintained. Plenty of people are 100k+, some have even reached 200k with no issues. I would definitely have a mechanic look at the car, and do a compression/leak down test.
Thanks, i'll be sure to make better use of the search function.
Say a car does poorly on the compression/leakdown test. Does this mean no go?
Also, the color of the one I am looking at is S. Blue as well

Yeah, I wouldnt buy a car with low/bad compression testing. And the f series engines have a much higher compression than a lot of other engines, so make sure you compare the numbers you get to honda's. I believe its somewhere around 215, but i would be wrong.

I bought my 01 s2000 with 102k actually, and I've had it for a year with no problems. As long as they are well taken care of, you shouldn't have any problems.
