Should I buy?
I just went to an Acura dealership to look at a 2001 Honda S2000 silver with red interior with 29000 miles on it. I did not buy the car because I was hesitant on the condition of the car. The left headlight had condensation on it, the tires on the back were gone, the front brakes were low, the center console didnt close, and the seats were in horrible condition. My question is: Should i buy the car at a reasonable price and then fix the problems, or is it not worth it?
They list the car for 20K and I have yet to tell them what I will pay. ANY ADVICE?

Offer a price only if they will agree to repair or replace the discrepancies that you noted.
If they don't then move on.....there are a lot of other sweet deals you can probably find if your patient.
Sounds like the previous owner might not have been very kind to the car.
If I was buying used I wouldn't consider anything under MY02. JMHO.

There is a S2000 2001 at Santa Margarita Ford dealer ...
Black..... smells like a chick drove it.... all fruity
and high heel marks in carpet.
Black paint was beat to crap, scraches all over, she key the drives door by the key hole....
both head lights were jacked up..... (sun baked plastic that lost the smooth shine)
back plastic window was all scratched up, leather seats were dried and cracked 39,000 miles
They wanted $22,950...... I IMO it was only worth $16,000.... it just looked old and uncared for
convet it into a track car

Thanks a lot for the help! I have test drove 2 2001's and 2 2002 and I think that the improved trans, the better stereo, and the glass rear window, and other improvements make it a better car. The prices have been a little lopsided though. I was hoping to get one before the summer but I will wait for a better taken care of car. I live in Rhode Island so they are in shorter supply.
Thanks a lot
