I will be purchasing a car in jan-mar. I need some suggestions!

s2000 or WRX, Used in both scenarios. 00-02 s2000 and Wrx.

PROS vs CONS?

LOOKS, engine, interior, exterior.

Also, after $5000 of mods, which car will be the shit?

Personally, and not to be rude, but I don't like threads like this. With me, I saw the S2000 and automatically had the warm and fuzzies for the car. As for when I actually drove the car, well, let's just say I won't comment further on that since their might be children viewing . I think you can only make your decision based on a test drive, and partially on geographics. What do you like about each car? What don't you like about each car? They are very different cars. You and I and I'm sure most of the people will agree with me in saying that it's really what you want and what will work for you! Do you want a 4-wheel crotch rocket or a AWD road-hugger? its easier to mod a wrx with 5000, its a hella lot cheaper for parts.

The differences between a sedan and a roadster, 4door vs. 2-door, let alone the driving experiences, are so great that no one, other than you, can make that call.

(This thread reminds me of when Clinton ran the first time, and was taking questions from the Gen Y's on MTV - this nitwit girl asks him "boxers or briefs?". I mean, how often does one get the opportunity to ask the possible Leader of the Free World a question, and to blow it (oops, monica's job) on that inanity...the sad thing is, he answered her.)

They both are great cars though - I drove both, and ordered aN S2000.

 

It seems that threads such as this one are started with the intention of just getting responses. I don't see the meritt in the question posed. It truly is a subjective opinion you are soliciting, and there lies the attempt. Let's put this one to rest.

 

you can't settle your own question with a list of pro's and con's. You just have to drive both of them and see which one tugs at your heart more. Its like this, imagine you meet a beautiful blonde girl, and the next week you meet a beautiful brunette. You date both of them, you screw both of them, finally you have to pick one. Which one do you pick? I might pick the blonde, someone else on this forum might pick the brunette, but you know what...it doesn't matter. Who tugs at your heart more after you test drove them? The blonde or the brunette?

 

the wrx has a lot of room for improvement, so if you like to mod a lot, go with the wrx. you wont get noticable gains with a s2k if you like to slap on some simple boltons.

BUT the wrx is ugly IMO and based on that i would never buy one.

you got to have a fast and nice looking car, and the s2k is the whole package.

 

One more example of how I came to my own decision of getting the S. I really wanted an A4 quattro, cuz my friend has one, and its pimp, it attracts a lot of girls. I went to test drive one and I loved it. It pulled pretty hard, the quattro was one of a kind, and the interior was superb. I was ready to get one, I loved it. I had a conversation with the dealer about the other cars I had considered and mentioned the s2000 was next on my list. Jokingly, the Audi dealer suggested that I test drive the s2000 so that I will know what he's talking about (He said the s2000 was too small and that you had to drive it hard and you won't enjoy driving around the city). The following week, I test drove the S2000. To make a long story short, going from the A4 to the S2000 is like screwing Cameron Diaz, and then screwing Anna Kournikova...bye bye Cameron! I called the Audi dealer up and told him I found a new love in the s2000.

 

WRX, if I had it to do over again I would. S2000 is to hard to mod, even if it is the shit stock. The S is harder to drive to, but more rewarding... Until you destroy your front bumper cover as a result of a 4 wheel drift. Then that whole cool because it's hard to drive 100 percent thing kinda looks stupid. Okay I am ready bring the flames.

 

Both are good choices, I don't think you will regret either one. Just don't buy a Mustang!
