Default Should I buy this supercharged S2000?

I really want an S2000 and been looking at used ones. I like Honda's reliability and wouldn't mind buying used however this one has a supercharger installed. I was wondering what you guys think of the deal and what you think of buying a used S2000 with supercharger installed in it.

I love the yellow color and this car is yellow so it makes me want to get it pretty bad. Although I would never install a supercharger myself since it cost so much, it is something that I do like.

Please provide any feedback or comments before I make this big purchase. Thanks so much and this forum is awesome.

You're not going to find too many that were "granny-driven" but this one sounds like it could've been "rode hard and put away wet" to borrow a phrase from the Old West. Noise from the rear end could be an expensive problem. There seems to be lots of used ones around. Do what you think is right, but I'd keep looking!

Plus, it's already changed hands 3 times in less than 24k miles? She's been around more often than a cheap hooker.

Find a clean 1 owner and supercharge it yourself.

I dont know....the guys said he is willing to have the noise checked by a mechanic. Could just be the loose hub nut TSB has not been performed. I would take him up on the offer of an independent inspection. I would not, however, put the deposit down prior to having it looked at. If someone else snatches it out from under you, oh well. Not worth the risk to me, IMO. I would have the thing looked at by a Honda specialist. Also, find out who installed the SC. Google them and see if they have a good rep.

Cars are cars. If the work was done right, it should be fine. If not, you will have problems.

What would deter me from this purchase is not the fact that it's supercharged. My S is boosted and I actual drive it easier now than I did when it was stock.... Two things draw my attention.

1. It's had 3 previous owners..
2. The comment on eating Evo's and Sti's would lead me to believe he's been beating on it. This may not be the case but it woud seem as much.

If it's not a big inconvenience..get it checked out...it might be a good deal. If it's differential problems or worse...stay clear.

Based on the price and what they're saying, I'd stay far... far away from that car.

Based on the ad: the guy is trying to get rid of the car in 10 days
>>500$ deposit secures car for 10 days.<<. He makes sure that you have money in the bank >>Certified check (not cashiers or personal check) << and run with it. They say "A deal is too good to be true, usually is" >>10-15K IN UPGRADES, 24000 MILES ONLY<<

Sorry, I would walk away from it and don't look back. Keep on looking.

Cheer,
