Default Should I give up my Type-S for an S2000?

I purchased my RSX Type-S in August of 2001. I like the car. Modest performance. Not too crazy about the exterior styling. I'm tired of the rice trend and it sucks that my car is creeping towards that direction. I don't need a lot of interior space or backseats. And I'm bored with its FF configuration. Not to mention smoked(WRX). So it appears now that I haven't made a good decision. If I had passed the Type-S I could probably own an S2000 now. My only real problem is the winter. I live in Alaska so you get the idea. Although I consider myself to be an excellent winter driver. I have done some searching and it seems that some members can make do with tire modifications. I'm contemplating on a used S2000. Do you guys think its worth it? I like driving my RSX but the S2000 comes out of the box with everything I need and some. I don't have to mod to get anymore performance out of it. Plus it comes with HIDS which some of you may take for granted but for me I gotta spend $500+ just to get installed. Oh how I wish I had FR..

BTW - When is the S2000 due for its next make over?

You're coming onto an S2K forum asking if you should get an S2K?! Of course you should!!! They're MUCH more fun than the RSX.

BTW, technically, the S is MR. Front sparkplug is behind the centreline of the front wheels...

Just keeping everybody honest...

both cars are fun to drive. there is alot of hiden power under the type S. for daily and winter driving, i would choose the type S any day. but for pure fun and raw 4cylynder power, i would go w/ the s2k.

Why would you want an S2k in Alaska?

I was in Juneau last year, it was sunny and 70. The locals said it was rare it was ever that way.

If you have to ask the question wether the s2000 is for you or not...then you shouldn't get one. Ditch the type-s and get yourself a WRX. Or wait until the Lancer EVOs/WRX STi hit our shores, they should provide you with ample power/fun and tractability during the winter months.

Believe it or not, but there are a few members on this board from Alaska. I can't remember their names but you can look up the members by state. I'd PM some of them to see what their experiences with the S2K are.
