Default Should I pull the trigger on this 2002 S2K?

Well, I was planning on buying a new one next summer and just happened up on this one today. Red 2002 S2K w/ only 5300 miles, no body damage (doesn't appear to have been wrecked) 2 small dings that will come right out. One rear wheel has a couple little scratches but nothing major at all and I'm really anal about stuff like that.

They are asking $27,9xx lol. New invoice is only $29,5xx or so. Looking at edmunds.com price should be around $24K. Here is the link: http://edmunds.com/used/2002/honda/s2000/1...poption.1.Honda*

What do you think I should ask? Car is damn clean w/ very, very few miles. They also have a 2000 w/ 93K on it for 19,xxx.

$28k is waaayy too much. $24-$25 sounds about right.

I just helped my uncle buy a 02 black on black for 24.6k. The car was in excellent shape and had only 9k miles on it. It still had the original tires with lots of tread. You could tell it was never driven hard.
I have seen 04s advertised at 29.5k in the for sale and wanted section of this site, so there is no way you should be paying more than 255k for a car with 6k. If you look around enough you will find one you like.

IMO, comparing 00-01 s2ks with 02-03 are like comparing apples and oranges. I'd never buy a 00-01 s2k unless it was REAL cheap. Not ragging on the 00-01 guys, but I just cant stand the vinyl real window. And the 02-03 had ECU adjustments where the HP improvements can be felt. Plus you dont have to worry about all the TSBs and stuff.

For this particular s2000 you found, I think 25k flat is a fair price.

I paid 24.9 for mine. Did come with the cert warranty for whatever that may be worth. Go for 25 nothing more. I am sure you can find one for at least that. Give me the number of the dealership and I will haggle the price out the door. The car I bought started at over 29k without the cert.

Don't pay more than $24K.
