Hmmm...

3,000 miles and I haven't felt any shutdown shake. I wonder if I should take it back to the dealer?

You'd better let me have a look at it. Drop it off around 8, and I'll get it back to you in January.

You can make it shake on purpose....kinda like letting the clutch ease out in 1st gear to about stalling out. The RPM gets so low the car shakes. Same thing when you cut the car off, but much quicker so you don't feel it shake as much.

Hmmm...

Just consulted my Treo. Looks like I'm not scheduled to be in Chapel Hill until 2013. By that time, both the S2 and I will probably have the shakes.
Okay, I'll be hanging out on the corner until you get here

I don't mind the shake when shutting down, but i hate the fact i have slip the clutch a little to avoid the shake/rattle when moving away from standstill. I presume it's the clutch that shakes, not the gearbox. Can someone explain?

It's not either. The engine is the source of the shaking. Our motor hates operating at low engine speeds.
