+I was luckly enough to drive one this weekend. The car is much more of a touring car. It has power seats, a great stereo system, more leg room, more hip room, it's wider, the interior looks more inviting than the S, although the S is much easier to use becasue of where the instruments are positioned. The Z has larger tires and torque busting out of the seams. The looks are rather plain though. If the car was a better looking car, I would buy the convertible when it comes out, but I am not excited about the exterior. But the engine and interior have the S2000 beat. I know that the car is not as quick as the S, but all that low end torque feels great. Also, the car handles without the extra effort that is required by the S. The S has way too much bump steer and the Z has almost none. Also, I like the fact that you don't have to rev the engine to get decent power out of the car. This is great in low speed situations. On the highway, the car's power was very similar, although you have to work less to get the power out of the Z. Also the Z's powerband is much larger, which means that you don't have to constantly watch RPM's ( I do that now more than ever waiting for decent power to arrive). I believe that although the Z is not as fast a car, they will beat many S's becasue they are so easy to drive. If two average drivers are behind the wheel, I believe that the Z will win every time. Just my 2 cents. Nissian should have worked more on the exterior looks though.

Yes, this site is an auto enthusiast site; however, the focus is the S, not rants about the Nissan dealership, nor endless comments back and forth about the 350z styling good or bad. Keep that stuff to car talk where other auto enthusiasm should be posted.

I can understand that someone like you, who seems mainly worried about beating kids in stoplight races, might think the engine in the 350Z is better simply because it has lots of low end torque, but I just don't understand how you can think the interior of the 350Z is better than the S2000. Even the guys on the 350Z forums are complaining about the interior being so cheap looking. I will say the S2000 interior in spartan, but at least it's not cheap looking.

Really, I don't understand the angst here, from either side. If you want to talk about about S2000s, post in the S2000 Talk forum. If you want to talk about any other car (Porsche, 350Z, Ferrari, whatever,) post in the Car Talk forum. It's designed for that. 350Z posts are welcomed there. Where is all this anger coming from?
