Side effects of the grind prob?

So if your car has the grind problem, which mine definatly does, does anybody know of related problems?

My thoughts are that if there is a grinding situation, there are going to be metal shavings . . . and if they float around and get in the bearings, would that affect longevity? Eventually contributing to premature bearing failure? And perhaps make itself known just after the standard warranty is up?

As I see it if that happens then Honda should be responsible, but of course your SOL after the 36k.

Would this be reason enough to change out the bearings during the grind fix? Or do they already do that?
