Side View Mirrors do not lock down, solutions?
I did a search for Mirror shakes, mirror vibration, mirror rattle, mirror buzz, side mirror, side mirrors, side view mirrors.... Did not come up with anything. Honest, I really tried.
Here is my question, both passanger and driver side view mirrors have indents that allow them to fold in towards the car as well as out (for normal driving) When folded out, the indent is very loose on both mirrors, ie. no friction whatsoever. The very outside tip of the mirror moves in an arc probably about 1-2mm. It would not be that annoying except the whole mirror vibrates while driving. I have had many other hondas and have never had this issue. Is there a TSB on this and I am just too dumb to find it?
Thanks in advance.

I've not heard of this problem before.
Not saying a whole lot but I've been here for a couple of years. It certainly isn't common. I checked the Helms manual and there's no reference for disassembly of the mirror housing itself. Luck.

would you have to take off your interior door panel and get at the mirror assembly that way? maybe there's a screw or bolt holding it down that came loose ... i dunno
someone who's replaced their stock mirrors with those carbon fiber F1-style ones might know

Do you routinely fold your mirrors in? I don't think they were meant for this. I think they were meant to fold so they don't get broken in the event that someone accidentally walks into one of the mirrors. It is most likely that you have worn down (or worn out) the detent for the mirror pivots.

Actually I never fold them in or out. I only mentioned to be more articulate as to what the problem was. This is definately not a wear issue as both sides are identicle as to how much the mirrors move.
Sounds like a tolerance issue with how these are built.

You might be able to shim them somehow with a fabric tape to absorb the vibration.
Find a rubber O-ring or two that is thin enough to squeeze into the gap with a fine bladed screw driver or metal lab spatula.

. Hopeing that others have found a solution.
