So I just had my bumper repainted and I'm curious if anyone has had a similar experience with the Silverstone paint.
As you can see in some of the pictures below, the bumper definitely appears darker. Its odd though, cause in some angles or direct sunlight, the color is identical. Also, the bumper tabs are from Honda and are identical to the Silverstone color used by the paint shop.
There are about 7 variants of the Silverstone color and the shop used a camera to get the variant as close to my paint as possible. The shop said they would repaint it if I was unhappy, however, I'm planning on painting the hood and front fenders are some point before XPELing the entire front. So that color would be closer to the bumper anyway.

 

You sure they didn't paint it Chicane Silver?

 

The only way to get a 100% match(on metallic paints) is through blending the forward half of the hood, and the fenders when painting the front bumper.

 

Ya thats basically what they said they will do when they paint the fenders and hood. Still didn't expect the color to be so off without that though.

 

The reflection of the building behind doesn't help. how much did you end up paying? And what area is this? I have considered doing this to my front bumper.

 

Blending. How a shop wouldn't know going in that would be an issue is beyond reason.

 

mmm, that's not a good match- I mean, its a nice enough colour on its own, but not Silverstone. Did they just have the bumper, or did they have the whole car to try and colour match?

I've heard from several people saying the Silverstone color is one of the more difficult color to replicate...

 

I just had mine repainted last week.
It matches just about perfectly. I don't have pics right now but I'll post some later.

 

That match is way off. I have noticed though that there does seems to be a slight difference in appearance between the plastic bits and the metal bits on almost every car on the road, even brand new cars. The viewing angle makes a difference too.

Seems it might make sense to do all the painting you are planning at the same time?
