Silverstone on Red Premium???
I just stopped by Keyes Honda in Woodland Hills today to check out the S2000. I told them that i wanted silverstone on red and then the sales monkey tries to tell me that there's going to be a $3000 markup because its a rare color combo. I've been there numberous times to check out the S2000 and everytime i go there these guys do something to really piss me off. One time they had a used 2003 Spa S2000 (on the used car window sticker they actually called it an "S200") and they wanted MSRP (the same as a new one). I told the guy there's no way i'd do that and then the guy asks me "so why are you here?" I swear i will never buy my car from those a**holes.
Are most dealers going to try to mark up a silverstone on red and claim it's a special color combo?

there should be no markup whatsoever.....tell them to take their mark up and shove it up their A$$.....thats the biggest load of BS ive ever heard. Go to hondas website, and do an inventory search, you should be able to find dealers that have that color combo!
Good luck,
John

I congratulate your dealer for having the hubris to try and get a $3K premium for a combo that most dealers won't touch because they can't sell it!
BTW, a Sebring Silver/Red combo is relatively easy to find if you'd be willing to settle for that; I know Zimbrick Honda in Madison, Wisconsin had one sitting in their showroom last week...

EDIT: I gotta be fair. Miller Honda needs to be included on the list as well.

You can decide from there whether to take them up on the offer or try to do better yourself. Chances are you can do better, but that depends on your negotiating skills and how much crap you want to put up with at the dealer. But in my case, their offer was good enough, I got a great percentage rate and I never had to step foot on the dealer lot (car was delivered to me at the CU).
I can't imagine buying a car any other way now.
As a side note, my broker got the car from Honda Oxnard. The car was delivered with the "add-on" label affixed to the front window. They were planning on adding chrome plating to the rims, a CD-changer... and $6000 to the MSRP.

First off great color/combo choice! I just purchased the same at Penske Honda in Ontario, CA and they were great! No there definately should not be a mark up, I paid 31K Call the internet sales office and see what they can find for you. I know they have alot of buying power in socal. They had five s2000's on the lot when I purchased mine so I suspect if they don't have your color choice they can trade for it. Good luck!
