That pic is of the Binaltech version. Like I said above, it's just the prototype, not the actual retail version.
And it is true that the Binaltech transformers are diecast metal instead of the cheaper grade plastic units sold in the American market.

*EDIT* I did some googling and apparently it is for real. It looks like the US version (HASBRO) will be this yellow one.

Actually, I've already seen the yellow version out at Target. Didn't purchase it as I dislike yellow. The silver one will be out later this year, first in Japan under Binaltech, then in the U.S. as an Alternator.
