I'll start one... Okay, so I don't really need any feedback, but I'd just like to see some talk about something other than what floormats you use.

Has anyone in Japan or other countries run a compression check yet? I did yesterday just to make sure everything was ok with my motor. It got 240 psi on all 4 cylinders. I'm guessing those of you in Japan should be getting about 255 psi??? You run 11.7:1 compression, right?

BTW, dunno if I posted this yet, but I did a little write-up on my Kaaz differential install. I haven't had a chance to rip the pictures off the dv cam yet, but I'll do that in the next few weeks. Anyway, it's at http://138.23.206.216/car/

BTW, here's a poll for you...

That's one mod that I will never do. Without the proper tools or even with the right tools, setting the backlash bothers me. I'd rather have an experienced mechanic at a speed shop do that.

Can't wait to see the pics Rev!

Setting the backlash is the easy part. You just set up a dial gauge at a right angle to the ring gear and see how much play it has and then adjust the screws accordingly. Checking the preload is a little more tricky, but still not that bad except that you have to set the preload with the same adjustment screws you use for the backlash, so you need to get both settings right at the same time. The tooth contact is a bitch to fix if you get it wrong.

You need to chill. To some folks, the S2000 represents a technical masterpiece-in-progress. To others, the S2000 is an aesthetic work still to be perfected. And again to others, the S2000 is a tool for adventure. All perspectives are relevant to this board and no one need refrain from posting their thoughts on any of these subjects just because your interests are narrow.

Hey Rev, It understand your pain. When I first started the board there was a technical forum for such things but everyone complained and then there was one. I've reopened it in the hope that those that want to talk shop will find it more comfortable not being lost in the soup which is Car Talk.

We'll see how it goes. It needs a moderator so if you're interested...

Me?! Power? Ability to be judgemental? I suppose that could be interesting... what does that entail I do?

There's a multitude of interests in Car Talk and what one person deems irrelevant might be just what the next person finds of value.

Sorry, but I agree with the Rev. With all due respect, I didn't purchase this car for its floormats, nor the way it looks, as a matter of fact, the looks for me are just the icing on the cake...and we all know what too much icing does... Techies rule in Stookville, you fellas worried about the paint and future value should have bought an SLK, this is a drivers car...by the way, how much are the clear corners again?...hehe. Long live s2ki, no matter the conversate!!!!!!!!!!
