Default Sitting in for an alignment necessary?

It had been mentioned in various places on the board that it is recommended for the Driver to sit in the car while doing the alignment, is this necessary? It is like a full hour thing if it is good for my baby, i will do it........is it for real?

If the shop is willing to let you I'd definitely do it. It will make it that much more exact.

It would seem to make sense. In fact, the correct specs for BMW's require that weighted bags be place in drivers' passenger's center rear and trunk before alignment.

I do a lot of autocross, so I sit in mine during the alignment. When I had the alignment checked last time, I didn't get in the car at first. The numbers were off. After I got in the car the numbers came back.

For normal street driving, I wouldn't worry about it.

most places won't let you sit in the car, bring some dumbbell weights or something.
