sleeper hitch
I'm new here, just recently getting my S and looking for a trailer hitch to tow a tire trailer to autocrosses. After looking at ALLOT of hitch threads here, I ran across a post by GEARHEAD. I contacted him and he was quite helpful. The hitch has been in service for over a year and never given him a problem. So, I shamelessly copied his design
.
Here is a link with pictures and dimensions. It is VERY easy. The only thing that I think absolutely need to be fabricated is the drop hitch - I just haven't found a source for a 6 inch drop class 1 with a 1.25" box tube.
Any way, here it is.

Interesting and stealthy. I'd like to see it w/ the trailer connected.
If you took the car into the dealer for warranty service would they void the warranty if they saw it? Of course, they wouldn't see it unless they had to take the bumber cover off for what ever reason.

Any reason a 2" receiver could not be used? A 6" drop for a 2 x 2 receiver is available from Champion:

If you have a black car, the hole would probably vanish in the darkness.
