The airbox system of the S2000 is not that great imo - it sits behind the radiator and fan and at he top of the engine, so a smaller efficient radiator on the passenger side would allow a direct line from the intake to the front of the car, thus allowing a nice straight pipe from the nose, not behind a radiator, into the engine - fresh air without all the bends of your typical AEM style intake.
With the stock radiator, the stock air box is probably the best design for an intake imo, but I see nothing wrong with getting a direct pipe into the engine by utilizing a less wide radiator.

as long as the radiator has the capacity to handle the heat produced by the engine, it should be fine. A perfect example of this is the cwest carbon time attack car. They have a narrower radiator for the ram air effect with their scoop, however the radiator is thicker.
