Sneak preview of new S2000 badge designs
We're heading down the home stretch on the badge designs and I thought many of you would like a sneak peak at where we're going.
These are by no means complete and many refinements need to be made. For example, the badge sides, which are straight in the renderings, will be curved to match the stock. We're experimenting with many different color combinations and the addition of "9000 RPMS" or "2000" on the background field. We many also emboss a pattern into the background. But these will give you a reasonably good idea about where the basic designs are headed.
When they're ready, we'll show many color combinations and variations on these basic themes for your comments. We'll then make a final choice for production. BTW, it now looks that a pair of badges will sell for $90 -$100, not bad for a custom badge, IMHO. We'll make several color combinations available, suitable for each of the 5 paint colors.
Here are the two basic design approaches we're working with, one more traditional the other more abstract and contemporary. We have one other approach under development which we'll show when everything is ready.
First, the traditional, drawing its inspiration from you know what:

Second, the more abstract approach:

Nice work Rick! How nice would a silver background/ Red "S" look on my Silver/Red?? I think it would look real sweet. Keep us informed. BTW...I haven't priced badges before, but $90 to $100 seems a bit steep IMO. Then again, like I said I really haven't priced these before. Still interested though.
We're talking about a production run of maybe 200 badges. With the design and tooling costs, that seems pretty reasonable to me. When I started this whole thing I was guessing several $hundred for a pair. RM Racing sells stock badges, I think, for $80 plus for just one!
Rick,
JMO, but adding 9000REVS seems a bit over the top. Fitting the 2000 in somewhere might look nice, depending on how it was done. The cleaner the better for me.
Interested, but will it be possible to only get one? I was thinking of keeping the H on the back, and replacing the front with the new badge.
