Default So I changed my air filter today

***Puts flame suite on***

So I have 77K on my car. I replaced the factory air filter with a factory K & N replacement today.

My original one was BLACK!

after replacement, I can already feel that the car climbs up on the RPM'S much smoother, and it feels quicker as well.

Am I just imagining things? or does not replacing your air filter for 77K really have this much of an impact on the cars performance?

Before, my vtec engagement point, seemed rough. You could actually feel it change over. Now, it seems much smoother, and it just glides in to vtec. Is this all normal? or is my mind playing tricks on me?

Of course it makes a differance! 77k miles is a LONG time. I suggest you change (or clean if its K&N and cleanable) more often! With 77k miles that thing must have been nasty. You will see a performance increase and a MPG increase. Normally its not that noticeable, however with 77k miles I'd be suprised if it wasn't!

Thanks man. I was wondering why I was only getting about 180 miles total out of a tank. LOL

Hahahahaa, are you serious???

Its the exact same as a house AC filter! If you dont change it, it slows down ALL the air coming in, and does not work nearly as efficiently!

Your car probably bogged down like crap after 70k+ miles!

What? We have to do that too? Geeze, what the hell do we buy extended warranties for?
Luckily, I'm having a sale on blinker fluid too! PM me a check for $400 and I'll mail it to you!
