So I crashed my S2000 (Pics)
I thought I'd never be making one of these threads, but here we go. I was driving to meet with some friends and took an off ramp (decline) that looped around from facing 3 oclock to end up facing 12 o clock. I started to feel my back end give out, so I slightly counter steered (going 35mph) and reduced acceleration slightly to regain traction. My foot wasn't completely off the accelerator, so when I felt like I had regained control, I resumed acceleration and thats when I spun out 2-3 times and my back end hit a guard rail.
Conditions weren't optimal, very misty/drizzly outside. After further investigation, I decided I was a huge idiot. I remembered that I placed my car in winter storage, this was one of the first trips out of the garage, and I had inflated my tires very high to avoid flat spotting and did not deflate them back to normal! This was pretty much one of the worst situations I could have put myself in:
Over inflated tires + sharp angled off ramp + wet road = crash
Thank god no one else was on the road at the time and I walked away completely unharmed. I don't know what I'd do with myself if I had hurt anyone.

I suppose it could be worse, and it is "just a car", but at the same time I feel so bad, like a member of my family is in the hospital or something! This car is my baby.
I have full coverage on this car, I highly doubt this will be considered a "complete loss". Even though I had been going over it in my head "OMG what if..."
Not sure if you can see from the pics, but the frame is straight. Drives straight. I will need atleast a new bumper, tail light and trunk. The rear quarter panel has a slight bump, but doesn't appear to be major.
I'm planning on taking it to a place called white eagle auto, recommendation from a friend because they say on their site
"White Eagle Auto Body meets all of Honda and Acura's stringent requirements as a recommended auto repair facility. Find us on www.honda.com and www.acura.com under body shops."
So I guess they must do pretty good work on their hondas. I can only assume that they use genuine Honda parts, but you never know.
Just thought I'd share. Moral of the story? When you think you're "good/fine", be more careful and check your tires. Be safe guys

Sorry to see. I have had great success with Boyce Body Werks in Batavia & Naperville. Top notch work. As for insurance they will just want documentation of everything. Nothing really special you will need to do other then make sure you contact then ASAP to report everything.
For repair make sure you get "r" spec panels if they replace anything. These are Honda spec panels that meet requirements to sell a car as certified if it has been in an accident. Most insurance companies will look for parts off a salvage car, used, or aftermarket parts. Demand OEM parts for your car
Glad you were not injured and the car can obviously be fixed as sad as it must be to see.

Glad you are ok but sucks to hear about the S. Insurance should cover it all, just make sure you review your policy (just in case) and find a place you can trust to do the repairs.
Good luck!

and a set of Rear Fender Liners. Sorry to hear of your misfortune - you obviously take care of your car otherwise - nice to see. But from the photos it looks quite repairable by a good shop as long as you didn't hammer the rear wheel rim into something. Sounds like you have driven it since and that nothing untoward has shown up in that regard - it would be obvious if you had. Send us all photos when you are back on the road.

, time for an AP2 rear conversion...
