I learned that when borrowing a friend's S for a weekend. Spent at least 5+ hrs in the car with no suncreen on and thought nothing of it, until the next day! It was the first time I have ever blistered from sunburn, but at least it was only a bit under my eyes and on the nose.
It's funny how the idea that I could get sunburnt in a car absolutely never occurred to me.

It was the first thing my convertable car owner friends told me so I was pretty lucky not to get fried. I dont like driving with the top down when the sun is blistering anyway. It becomes too uncomfortable after 15 minutes or so even with the sunscreen on. I can't wait for fall and winter.
Sunscreen and a baseball cap should be your best friends in a convertible.
Those sunburns come back to bite you in the A___ in about 20-30 years. We know this from personal experience in our house.
We always apply sunscreen before heading out and keep a tube of it in a zip lock bag in the "secret" compartment.

Reminds me of my first week of ownership. My wife and I took a nice coastal driver up to Santa Barbara - no sunscreen. We got to enjoy peeling skin on our necks and face for the next week.
