I watched a kid open the door and get into my 07 S a few weeks ago, weird thing was her Dad just looked at her and did not stop her.
I had my hand on the keyfob ready to scare her but she looked around for a minute, got out and closed the door, no harm done.
She was maybe 12-14 years old, I was more upset at her Dad for not stopping her, they had no idea I was sitting eating dinner in the restaurant 20ft. away. In this case if the car had been locked, I assume she would not have opened the door and gotten in, I assume she would not have climbed over the door like your guy did and I would have hit the panic button on the keyfob if she tried anyway. I never lock the car, top is down 100% of the time, seems silly to me to lock it with the top down.
