Default So -- I made a decision and traded my S2000 for a ....

I just wanted to thank everyone for their input on what I should do with my S2000. After a few sleepless nights I decdied to trade my S2000 for an M3 Convertible.

While I think the styling of the S2000 is more distincitive, I think the M3 will prove to be a better overall car for my needs.

I've enjoyed hanging out at this board... and probably later in life (when I can afford a "collection" of cars) I'll purchase another S2000 (S2200) or whatever they end up being.

E36 M3?

That thought has ran across my mind before.

Hard to fault that decision if we're talking about an E46. If I could afford it, I would probably do the same. Having a back seat would be a major bonus with a dog.

I am a big fan of the E46 M3 Convertible - if that's what you got I'm jealous and I'm sure that you'll love it.

Good luck. Hope you don't mind the extra chassis flex, especially on bumpy expressways.

It's a 2001 M3 Convertible with only 6,000 miles. It's got the Harmon kardon, Xenon package, cold weather package ect. For $44,000 I couldn't go wrong.

The ride is simply fantastic... and the torque is fun to have around too.

I will miss the "roadster" feel of my S2000 --- but since I have dogs I like having a back seat for them.

Just drove a new M3 convertible and was a little disappointed in the amount of chassis flex not to mention the rear belts flapping against the seats at speed. I was expecting so much more!
I guess this is what happens when you already own one of the best convertibles on the planet.

I agree that a M3 is not as rigid as an S2000 --- just as an S2000 is not as comfortale or as fast as an M3.

I beleive both cars to be very different.. and I enjoy the extremes of what each offers.

Again.. if I could have afforded to keep my S2000 and get an M3 I would have done it in a heartbeat.

Instead... I get rid of one car I love for another I love.
