whats next?
2005 mazdaspeed miata - black/black leather
first let me back up and say that i used to own a miata before i got the s2000. i thought the s2000 would be a step up and in many ways it was...reliability, looks (subjective) and power at 10/10ths.
however there were things that i just like better about the miata and have missed since i got rid of my last one years ago. the s2000 is the clear speed and power winner by far and personally i think it looks better. also it has cruise control, honda reliability and more room (not necessarily a good thing) and a superior shifter/linkage
the miata has the following things that i just like better:
seats are more comfortable, analog gauges (subjective), openness - although it is smaller i feel less enclosed...kind of hard to explain...you have to try it out. the car has a bit more torque but it has more useful power for daily driving which this car is. manual top which i prefer and it has the x factor going for it...i suppose you could call it personally chemistry with the car.
i felt bad selling a car that was truly a performance wonder and very reliable but the way i drive it the miata is more rewarding for me...plus i save a bit on insurance, gas and i'm happier with the little car.
the shifter in the miata is great but it is not as crisp or short as the s2000. hopefully someone will enjoy my old car the way it was meant to be driven: like you stole it...i'm just too mundane of a driver for that i guess

don't worry guys i'm not leaving the site!

thats the key to being happy..get what you like and be happy with yourself not what other people want.
and i'd like to apologize for my earlier posts to your thread that seemed to get flamed by people..oh well i'm not the typical stupid teenager like my other posts kinda made myself out to be..i'll have to stop myself before getting carried away again
sorry guys..anyway do what makes you happy and don't worry about what other people think or care because when your in that car driving down the road by yourself...the only person you need to please is yourself. have fun man!!!
and next time i'll just say retarded
i was tryin to be a little nice for the special people

you wouldn't last 1 day in a texas summer with no a/c.
no offence (sic) but i'm an a/c enthusiast.

hey no problem. some of the controversy - that's what makes this board so great...s2ki is a special forum...for a small marketed car this forum is one of the top five car forums in the world! overall it's #77...very impressive and well run.
i love the feedback and depth of knowledge people on this board have regarding the s2000's and other cars in general. s2000 or not it's a great place to visit.

congrats on the new car and enjoy!! im probably going to be selling my S here in the near future also.
More than likely going to an STI...(had an evo already haha)
the STI still gives plenty of performance all around, but i can just throw my sweater in the back seat if i want, or haul a couple friends around, lean the seat back etc.
I guess i must be a "pussy" but i hate daily driving my car...its uncomfortable driving 80 miles a day in, i live in AZ...so even with the top up, the 120 degree heat still seeps through, its loud inside etc lol.
plus i get a new car probably once a year at least, i get bored to quick.
If i could afford 2 cars i would DEFINETLY keep my S...but budget doesnt allow that.

kill, just shut up and stop backing away from your statements. You are an immature, ignorant poster, not to mention a hypocrite. Stop trying to act like you drive your car 10/10s all the time (something tells me you could not even) and let others enjoy what they like. Also, don't quote me and agree with what I said and apologize for what you said. What's done is done and it's obvious what kind of poster you are.

If the S2000 didn't exist the Miata Speed would be in my top 5 fun cars to own under 25k
How's the steering feel-quickness-turn in in the Miata speed compared to the s2000?
