Default So, um...

So I end up going over a speed bump last night at about 1/2mph and hear a horrible sound when the front wheels come down. I keep going and don't hear anything else. The back wheels make it fine. I got under the car and looked... I can't see any damage to my exhaust, cat, or x-brace. What is most probable to have landed on the bump after my front wheels?

Mods: Espelir springs, Spoon x-brace, invidia exhaust (stock cat)

I really hope it was just the frame or something else that could handle it... but it surely was something

Mounting points on your X-brace? Just a guess.

i've got the same setup you do. Mine did the same thing going over a couple speedbumps. It turned out to be the exhaust scraping on the bump. Just take the bump at an angle.

probably the subframe of the car - you have to take those things sideways now you are lowered!

I did take it sideways.

I actually made two passes... one time I got halfway up the hill and freaked. Backed up, went at even more of an angle... and still got hung up. There was no other way into the apartment complex and no street parking.

Oh well... it looks like it was only the subframe. My precious Invidia looks fine.

One thing that no-one mentioned, and people always think they scraped when they hear it.....

You rubbed. Your springs, with even a drop of turn in the tires, and a bump = rubbage. Dont sweat it.

If it wasn't the xbrace, that was going to be my suggestion.
