I'm lucky. I got my new rear S-02s in the last week of April and got them in like 3 days.

The shortage of S-02s is seasonal. People are uncovering their summer rides and getting new tires. Bummer on the wait.

I'm also pretty sure that mid-winter, not only are the S-02s in full stock, but are also a bit cheaper. Just a guess though and that thought doesn't help you out any.

Also, the previous owner of my car put the ES100 Yokes on the rear in stock size and it was a FULL INCH less tire width. YIKES! I know that this is a known issue, but I was astonished none the less when I put those Yokes by the OEM S-02s. They are really not anything of the same tire.

 

Didn't firestone make a press release that due to increase in raw oil costs they were increasing the price of all their tires by 5-10%

Not sure when that is effective but I know it is a recent PR

 

I'm also in need of some S02's, for the fronts this time. I spoke with Jim from Tire Rack and it turns out that there was a fire at a factory that burned up a lot of S02's.

So I had them rotate the fronts left <-> right since most of the wear was on the inside. Hopefully, they'll hold out until the S02's come back.

Waiting patiently...

 

I just got S02 fronts mounted at my local Firestone (cheaper than tire rack) but they could only find 1 rear in the entire country. Looks like we'll all be waiting a while for rears.

 

Wow, I guess I was lucky to get mine on 2 weeks ago.

I have never done this with a car before, and my neighbor who races cars talked me into doing it. I felt a little better afterwards knowing I was about to spend $600+ for my new tires. I would never do this with new tires.

I called Tire Rack yesterday to get their price on a set of winter wheels and tires.

They told me they do not currently have 17" winter wheels OR Blizzaks to fit them.

I asked if my 16" Prelude wheels with Blizzaks on them would work and was told they will not clear the brakes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does anyone on the forum have any info/suggestions/solutions to this? Thanks in advance. Helen

 

Are you expecting an early winter, or did you just see 'The Day After Tomorrow'?
